Crepes

I am a regular Craigslistin' fool! I found a great deal on a solid pine cabinet/armoire for the TV which we are picking up tomorrow (I am going to paint it black and distress it- soooo Pottery Barn) and in my Craigslist travels I discovered the "Household" section. I have never frequented this section before, and the first time I did, I scored! As a back story, on Easter we had brunch at a family's house that made delicious crepes with this fabulous crepe-making machine. You dip it into a bowl of batter and the batter sticks to the hot surface and in about 4 seconds, you peel it off and it is done. I was fascinated as they were made and as I have an obsession with all kitchen-y gadget-things (I have an ice cream maker, a cotton candy maker, a quesadilla maker, a creme brulee maker, a panini maker, etc.) I knew I needed this. It was $40 at Bed Bath and Beyond. I just hadn't been there recently, but knew when I next went, I would be purchasing this fine contraption. Well, upon clicking the household section of Craigslist, I found a brand new one (never used!!) for ten bucks. YES!!! When the lady called to tell me where she lived so I could pick it up, she mentioned that my email came in first by about three minutes, before a giant slew of other people, all apparently after my precious appliance. Needless to say, we had crepes for dinner.

"We are having CREPES for dinner!!!" I told Dave, extremely excitedly.

"Can crepes really be a dinner?" Dave asked very skeptically.

"Oh yes," I answered very assuredly.

"What were you thinking of putting in them?" he asked. "Meat, or eggs, or something?"

"Um, strawberries. And... other fruity sweet things," I said airily, floating away to another room so as to avoid further questioning as to my dinner choices.

I had crepes for breakfast the next day too. Mmmmmm. Creeeeeeepes. Mmmmmm.

Those little delights are part of the reason I've gained an undisclosed amount of weight living in Switzerland! Why do they have to be so darn delicious??? Have you tried them with bananas and nutella (it's the most common combo here)? AMAZING!

Nice work! You never know what you can find on Craigslist. Shawna saw a listing for a house on Sunday, and bought it this week!

I want to come to breakfast dinner, too! They sound heavenly. We always have breakfast for dinner. In fact, I have been known to serve cereal for breakfast, too:)
